AI receptionist for electricians across Australia

Isolating a circuit? KookaDesk picks up.

Sparkies can't safely stop mid-task to answer a phone, and the customer with no power won't wait. KookaDesk answers your missed calls, emails and website enquiries within 60 seconds, 24/7, asks the safety questions first, then sorts urgent faults from quote work like EV chargers, switchboard upgrades and solar batteries – and texts you each job to confirm.

Why electricians lose work they could have had

The phone rings at the wrong moment

On a roof, in a ceiling or working on a board – answering isn't safe, and calls roll to voicemail.

Quote work is booming and impatient

EV chargers, batteries, switchboard upgrades and lighting quotes arrive by phone, form and email. The first electrician to reply with sensible questions usually wins.

Property managers want a time, fast

Smoke alarm, safety check and rental repair work goes to whoever confirms a time first.

How it works for electricians

Set up in about 48 hours, wherever you are in Australia. You keep your number, your phone and how you work.

STEP 1

Divert missed calls

A short diversion code sends calls you don't answer to your KookaDesk line. The codes are the same nationwide on Telstra, Optus and Vodafone (see the guide). We connect your email and website form too.

STEP 2

It answers in your name

It says up front it's your AI assistant, asks your questions, and only gives the answers and prices you've approved for your area.

STEP 3

You reply with a number

You get a text with the job and the customer's preferred times. Reply with a number to confirm – for example Reply 1 for 2pm, 2 for 4pm. The customer gets an SMS confirmation and an email copy goes out for the record. No links to tap; calendar sync is optional.

What it asks your customers

  • Job type – no power, tripping safety switch, switchboard, lights and power points, EV charger, smoke alarms, solar or battery, data
  • Safety – burning smell, sparking, water near electrics, anyone hurt
  • Single- or three-phase, house age and switchboard type if known
  • Suburb, street and state, checked against your area
  • Owner, tenant or property manager, and access
  • Photos of the switchboard or problem by SMS link

Safety questions first

Fallen powerlines, sparking or someone hurt: it tells the caller to stay well clear, call 000 if anyone is in danger, and report network faults to their distributor – then alerts you. Burning smell or smoke from a switchboard: it advises calling 000 and flags the job as urgent.

Network faults and rules differ by state

When the problem is the grid rather than the house – a street-wide outage or a fallen line – the right call is the local network distributor, and that changes across the country: Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and Essential Energy in NSW; CitiPower, Powercor, Jemena, AusNet Services and United Energy in Victoria; Energex and Ergon Energy in Queensland; Western Power in WA; SA Power Networks; TasNetworks; and Evoenergy in the ACT. We load the distributor for the areas you cover, so callers get the right faults number.

Electrical safety regulators differ too (for example Energy Safe Victoria or Queensland's Electrical Safety Office). The assistant only quotes your licence details as you give them and never talks a customer through electrical work.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an AI receptionist cost for an electrician?

KookaDesk is A$129, A$199, A$349 or A$549 per month +GST depending on call minutes (100, 300, 600 or 800) and features, the same price in every state. There's a 7-day free trial with up to 100 minutes (cancel anytime before day 7 and you won't be charged), and our first 10 customers pay no setup fee (normally A$299 +GST, or A$499 +GST on Pro).

Can it ask the questions I need for an EV charger quote?

Yes. Phase, distance from the switchboard, charger model if chosen, garage or carport, and photos of the board. You get one tidy text instead of three phone calls.

Does it know which distributor to send outage calls to?

We set that up for the regions you cover. If a caller is clearly outside your area it redirects them politely.

Does it work in my time zone?

Yes. KookaDesk runs in every Australian time zone – AEST/AEDT (NSW, VIC, TAS, ACT), AEST all year in Queensland, ACST/ACDT (SA) and ACST (NT), and AWST (WA). Your business hours, after-hours rules and the times it offers callers are all set in your local time.

Will callers know it's an AI?

Yes. It says it's your business's AI assistant at the start of every call and tells callers the call may be recorded, with the option to leave a message without recording instead.

Can it handle property manager work orders?

Yes. It records the agency, tenant contact, access details and work order number, and texts you the job to confirm a time.
