Why plumbers lose jobs to voicemail

You can't answer on the tools

Under a sink, in a roof space or on a slab – most calls arrive exactly when your hands are full. Many callers won't leave a message; they just ring the next number.

After-hours calls are the urgent ones

Burst flexi hoses at 9pm and no hot water on a Sunday morning are high-value jobs. If nobody answers, someone else gets the call-out.

Web forms and emails go cold

A quote request that sits in your inbox until Thursday night is usually already booked with someone else.

How KookaDesk works for you

Set up in about 48 hours. You don't change your number, your phone or how you work.

STEP 1

Divert missed calls

Set a short diversion code so calls you don't answer go to your KookaDesk line. We connect your email and website form too.

STEP 2

It answers in your name

It says up front it's your AI assistant, asks your questions and only gives answers and prices you've approved.

STEP 3

You get the job

It books a time or a call back and texts you a short summary straight away, so you can decide in seconds.

What it asks your customers

  • What the job is – blocked drain, leak, hot water, burst pipe, toilet, gas fitting, reno rough-in
  • Suburb and street, so it can check you service the area
  • How urgent it is, and whether water is still running
  • Owner, tenant, strata or real estate agent (and who pays)
  • Access – pets, gates, parking, keys
  • A link by SMS so the customer can send photos before you quote

Emergencies handled the right way

Gas smell: the assistant tells the caller to leave the area, not to use switches, phones near the leak or flames, and to call 000 or the Jemena gas emergency line on 131 909 – then alerts you straight away. It never gives gas repair advice.

Burst pipe inside the home: it explains how to turn the water off at the meter and flags the job to you as urgent. Burst water main in the street: it directs the caller to Sydney Water faults on 13 20 90.
